FAMILIA PACHECO SELECCION

7 MONTHS OAKED RED WINE

DOP_Jumilla-Consejo-regulador-de-la-denominacion-de-origen-250

DPO : Jumilla

Grape variety : Blend of Monastrell 80  % – Cabernet 10 % – Syrah 10 %

Vinification: Malolactic Destemmed bunches, uncrushed berries. Fermented in stainless steel vats, temperature controlled at 25-26 °C, wild yeasts, the maceration method “pumping over”. The finish wine is aged during 7 months in French oak barrel of 300 L. Some barrels are new, others are second and third filled. The key point is to make a wine with subtle oak flavours/aromas which should respect the fruit flavours of the wine. Each variety is matured separately. The blend is made at the end of the maturation period in a stainless steel vat. The final blend has not been under neither clarification process nor cold stabilization. Depth, surface, and sterile filtration

Vineyard location: Jumilla – Murcia

Monastrell & Syrah

Non-irrigated, ungrafted, bush vines, spur-pruned, hand-harvested, limestone soils, 40 years old (vines age). Altitude 800
m.a.s.l. The plot is called Navajuelos, located 70 km northwest from the winery. Low density (around 1.400 to 1.600 vines per hectare).

Cabernet Sauvignon

Trellised vines with drip irrigation. The plot is located at 380 m.a.s.l. on the valley “Estrecho de Marín”, southern
subzone of the DOP Jumilla. The vines were planted in 2008. Limestone soil. Cane-pruned vines. High density (1,20×3 m).

Alcohol degree: 14.50 % Alc

Serving temperature: – 16-18 °C

Tasting notes: Medium to deep intensity, ruby colour. Mature black fruit aromas (black plums, Blackberries, blackcurrants) coming from the Monastrell
are really well-balanced with the french oak aromas. Also, earthy and spice character. Great elegance of the nose where the typicity of the
Monastrell is really well-expressed. The contribution of the french oak is excellent. The wine on the palate is bold, rich, silky with a long finish.
Amazing balance acidity, tannins and alcohol. To sum up, a wine with typicity ready to drink now with a good potential for aging.

PDO: Jumilla

Grape variety: Blend made of Monastrell 60%, Cabernet S. 25% & Syrah 15%.

Vineyard location: Jumilla – Murcia

Monastrell

Non-irrigated, bush vines, spur-pruned, hand-harvested, limestone soils, 30-40 years old (average vines age). Combination of different plots located in different sub-zones. Altitude range between 380-680 m.a.s.l. Low density (around 1.400 to 1.600 vines per hectare).

Cabernet & Syrah

Trellised vines with drip irrigation. The plot is located at 550 m.a.s.l. on the valley “Omblancas”, 7 km north-west from Jumilla town. Sandy and clay soil. Planted in 2004. Cane-pruned vines. High density (1,20 m. x 3 m.).

Alcohol degree: 13.5 % Alc

Serving temperature: – 16-18 °C

Tasting notes: Bright medium ruby color. Attractive and sexy nose, great aroma intensity of red fruit (red cherry, raspberry), vanilla, and cacao. Excellent balance between acidity,
tannins, sweetness, and alcohol. Medium-bodied wine is characterized by its freshness and fine finish due to the “continental character” of the 2018 vintage. Ready to drink now but the good capacity for aging.
